What do you think about calm life at your elder’s age? Your elder’s age is too tight, stiff, and uncomfortable. You have already tried all the ways of keeping your elder’s posture in better condition to make your life better.
Depending on the situation, you’ve tried some DIY (do it yourself) therapies like massaging or applying heat and cold. However, if you find that none of these methods are offering results that keep you feeling excited about the future, then it’s time to take things to another level.
As we all know, age is a matter of mind. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. But sometimes, when people get older, they start to forget things. This can be very frustrating, especially in the case of elderly people. For example, you probably heard the story of the man who forgot to eat breakfast on his way out the door and then forgot to turn off his stove. He then drove to work in the car he had forgotten about when he bought it.
But this does not have to happen to you! You can tell your elderly family member that you love them for their identity and how much they mean to you. Tell them that age is just a number and that you want to make sure they feel comfortable no matter their age. It doesn’t matter if they’re in their 80s or 90s. There are ways to make them feel more comfortable around you and other people.
01 Try talking about something else besides their age
If your family member is always talking about how old they are, it might be time to change the topic. They may have forgotten about their birthday or anniversary and need some gentle reminders from time to time.
02 Help them take care of their health and have fun doing it
Ensuring your parent gets enough exercise is important, and it can also be fun! You may take a stroll with them or participate in a sport.
03 Listen to soothing sounds
Turn off stressful noise by listening to soothing sounds like music or nature sounds. Music can help ease the pain while providing a distraction from stress. Studies show that listening to music can help lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety. Try using music to unwind at the end of a stressful day or as a sleep aid before bedtime.
04 Spend time together
Spending time with your loved ones will help them stay active and engaged in life. Consider taking them out for lunch once in a while or having them over for dinner.
When your parents feel young at heart, they may be more likely to live longer. According to a new study, elderly persons who feel several years younger than their actual age have a higher chance of living longer.
Researchers led by Dr. Aladdin Shadyab of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine found the association between younger subjective ages and longevity was strongest among those participants who reported no limitations on activities due to physical health.
In other words, those with a younger subjective age were more likely to live longer only if they said they had no limitations in doing things like walking, running, or climbing stairs.
05 Use calming scents around the home
One of the most powerful and efficient methods to influence our emotions is through our sense of smell. Essential oils have some calming, relaxing effects. Dab, some jasmine oil behind your ears for an overall sense of calm, or rub rose oil on your home for a better night’s sleep. You can also use essential oils in diffusers or put a few drops in your bath water. The scent of lavender is especially relaxing!

06 Talk to your friends
Vent over the phone with your best friend or meet up with a colleague for happy hour after work. Talking about your emotions might help you de-stress and put things in perspective. According to new research from Brigham Young University, people who received social support at work were less anxious than those who worked alone or in isolation.
07 Take a bath
You don’t need a fancy spa treatment to relax, light a candle, turn on some soothing music and soak in the tub for a few minutes. Whether taking an Epsom salt bath or treating yourself to a luxurious bubble bath, this simple ritual can go a long way toward making you feel calm.
08 Make something: Art, Music, or Food
Making something with their hands is one of the finest methods for seniors to unwind. People find pleasure in being creative, whether it’s cooking a favorite recipe, working on a painting or sculpture, or playing an instrument (or even just listening to music). If your loved one isn’t in the best health or finds it difficult to concentrate on detail-oriented projects, consider helping them work on less complicated crafts (like finger knitting) or don’t require strenuous physical movement (like coloring books).
It might take time for your loved ones to adjust if they aren’t used to expressing themselves creatively. Still, you’ll help them realize that art can be fun and relaxing by offering verbal encouragement and physical guidance when needed.
09 Drink something warm and comforting
While many of us reach for caffeine or alcohol in times of stress (both of which are not good for our health), why not try for something that is? Drinking warm liquids like hot chocolate or tea can have a calming effect on your body’s physiology and improve your mood.
10 Reach out for help
You’ll find that these three methods work wonders in helping you deal with the stress of feeling old. Making something can be a great way to help relieve that stress. Whether it’s art, music, or food, creating something can be a very therapeutic process. Making something is an excellent way to take your mind off of the stress that you may be feeling and maybe even help you get in touch with your inner self. It’s also an excellent form of exercise!
